What went on yesterday is still being felt today - and if you want to talk about it, then you need the PERFECT tense. But how is it formed, and why do you say “BIN gewesen” [“have been”] but “HABE getrunken” [“have drunk”]? Listen to our teacher, and you’ll soon be up to speed! "Here you can really learn German", says the guy in English. No mention to the terrible Viene accent, a conundrum when you are trying to learn German. Still possible but way more uphill a steep over an already difficult enough language. Everyone knows that foreigners take on average 2-3 years longer to learn good German in Austria than they would do in a standard German region.
